I will keep this brief for now, though expect a larger article in the future. However, for now I will briefly say that in lieu of what
spoke of in his recent article, it seems as if Stripe is now centering their attacks on small accounts. We’re the canaries in the coal mine and we are trying to warn you that something horrific is happening. And indeed something horrific is happening, because now after speaking to a representative from Stripe in San Francisco, regarding where our customers payments were going, I have been notified that there were problems concerning payments. Funnily enough, I remember having issues of this manner in the past with Stripe as well. One of the issues I was having concerned the manner of “refunds,” essentially meaning that people who had donated or had bought a subscription were having their money returned to them just days later. Funny isn’t it? I never authorized these refunds on my side of the transaction and neither did my customers.
The newest line of problems came in the form of a missing payment that was processed, but sent to an old account of mine. When I enquired to where it had went, well you could imagine that I was surprised to find that they didn’t actually know. They said it was transferred to the old account, however, I closed that account and moved to a different bank. Now they have no answer as to where the payment went. This tells me that Stripe has pocketed the money and and has tried hiding it as a processing error. Companies have done this in the past, and because it was only a $15 amount, it isn’t economically feasible to sue over. They know this and they want you to know that they can do things like this.
I won’t talk anymore about this for now, but just know that any payment you give us, as of now, will not actually go to any of my accounts. In the meantime we are looking for an alternative, however, Rumble uses PayPal (known for its wokeness), and Locals uses Stripe as well. In fact Stripe has infiltrated almost every platform as far as payment goes. So what are our options? Parallel Economy was apparently supposed to be working with the likes of Rumble and Locals, yet after almost two years, there has been little development in that field.
I might just walk into the woods and pick up the life of my ancestors as an ascetic monk. Perhaps I will leave the earthly wood and live like a stranger to it, somewhere in the woods and somewhere free. Thank you for reading and God bless, I will keep you updated in the future.
Stay strong and pray the Holy Spirit will reveal an alternate path.
Keep us updated. I concur about your feeling and am ready to go myself too.
