Have been reading books on imperialism
Hobson studied the British Empire published a book about it in 1913
It’s amazing how the USA empire parallels the British one
It’s almost like reading about the USA today
I find the imperialism view useful and viewing the USA as an oligarchy controlled to a large degree by banking cartels
Of course there are factions within the elite and oligarchy
That’s the fun part
I think empires go thru pretty much the same life cycle. You'd think they'd catch on, but they don't. Then again, the oligarchs get what they want out of it, and I doubt they care about the rest of us.
